You know those cute signs in offices and stores "Don't ask me, I just work here"? Not so cute in a hospital. First off, a nurse told me that a med. she was going to inject me with has NO SIDE EFFECTS. "That's the amazing thng about it" she said. I was concerned because i have allergies, ulcers, IBS, tinnitus, etc. I woke up the next morning feeling really sick. I googled the med. You're not supposed to use it with ulcers, and it does cause dizziness and is ototoxic. Not only that, it has so many side effects it can only be used orally for five days max. The next day I made the massive mistake of g oing back in and getting an MRI. Firstly, another nurse said they must do a urinalysis beforehand to make sure I'm not pregnant. Then the MRI tech shows up to take me. Uh, what about the urinalysis? Then about 15 min's. into the MRI my R. ear started ringing more loudly. I called to the tech. who pulled me out. I asked her if she knew of a link between the LOUD MRI noises and tinnitus. Of course not, she just works there. So after she badgered me "So, are you gonna do it or not?" literally nonstop, I just froze. I couldn't really answer. I asked her to give me a minute to think about it. She wouldn't do it. She pulled me out and said to forget about it. To make it all worse, she was almost done and I saw the images. Full images. So I said "why don't you guys just read what you have?" She said "No, we won't read it unless I complete the whole thing." I asked Why? She said "because you wouldn't let me finish. If you would have let me finish we'd read them. Now we won't" Like she's passively - aggressively punishing me. The image was there. So I went through all that for nothing. She probably erased it all. And anyone who has tinnitus knows that when the sound gets louder, you panic. It's a horrible thing. She was so nasty and everyone was so nutty, I refused to go back into the hospital. so then she manhandled me. She grabbed both of my shoulders and tried to push me into the hospital and shook me a bit. Just what I needed. I was in there for injuring myself during a fall. Also, when I had been there the day before, I realized near the end of my visit that I'd rushed out and left my key in the hotel door. Meaning anyone could enter my room. I was concerned about my dogs. The nurses at the nursing station made fun of me "who'd want your dogs anyway?", etc. When my b/f said a thief could come in and let my dogs out, they looked around and snickered with each other. I think someone let the loons out of the mental ward and the people in the ER are mental patients posing as professional medical personnel. Please if you get sick drive a half hour into Surprise, or just ask anyone on the street what to do, you'll get a more informed answer. BTW, if you have tinnitus an MRI can make it worse. Esp. the older, crappy models that are louder and take much longer. Like this one was. Now, the next morning my right ear is still ringing more loudly. Which is like sentencing someone to hell. Was it the shot or the MRI? I can't know for sure. What it comes down to is it's due to extreme lack of knowledge and indifference. Now I get to suffer while they're at home enjoying themselves.
